Tuk Tuk Thai Boat Noodle, Plaza Merdeka, Kuching

Last weekend we went to Plaza Merdeka. My cousin called me asking whether I had any plans on the evening. I was watching VIP 2 (VELAIILLA PATTADHARI) when she called. So I told her no, but if you want to go out, maybe around 5.30 pm. I wanted to finish the part 2 since I missed out the part 1 the day before. So later that evening, me, my cousins and my auntie went there.

Went to Borneo Time to fix our wrist watches. Gosh, I had this wrist watch for the past years ( I couldn't remember how many years), only to start wearing the watch since last Saturday (noted that today is Wednesday, October 30th 2019). Oh gosh, I just noticed that the watch is the Men's Edition. Hahahaha. WTH. But then it was a gift. So I just wear it. It looks nice on my wrist tho...

The design doesn't look manly since the color suits the lady more.

Oh back to the makan-makan thing. We were looking for a place to eat and decided to try Tuk Tuk Thai Boat Noodle, since there were not many people there during the hours we were there (it located at an open space, the same level with the food court). Not quite sure what to expect, of course we were like will they taste as good as the one we had at D'Airiz Cafe or even Mango Tree.

These were the food that we ordered.

 Mango Salad

Steamed Fish Lemon Soup and Tomyam Mixed Seafood

Kangkong Thai Style

Thai Chicken Wing

And we had white rice. I ordered iced coffee for myself, my cousins Coca-Cola and orange juice while my auntie ordered iced lemon tea. And the food, boleh tahan. I like the steamed fish lemon soup because the fish didn't have any smells at all and it didn't taste sandy? They used tilapia fish. And you know this fish, if the fish was the one that they breed in the man made fish pool, it would smell and taste sandy. But this one so far, it didn't smell. Just like the eco fish set by Sugar Bun.

The rest of the food, they were ok. Everything tasted sour. Hahahaha. The base of Thai cooking of course you just could not leave out  the lime and lemon. That's the strength of their foods. Lime and lemon give that kind of fragrance in the food. That good and fresh smell.

Oh ya, and also peanuts add on to almost every vegetables. The crunchiness of the peanuts add more action to every bites. Hahahaha. Nice tho.

Done? Done!

Thank you

Thank you, cousin's wife, for the dinner.
Finally I ate proper meal for the first time after many weeks missing due to work and time.

From left to right
Fried ikan terubuk, tempoyak goreng, petai goreng sambal, sambal kicap pedas.
Am too lazy to translate. So, use Google to translate if you need it.

Lock Ann Cafe, Kuching

Went to fetch my auntie's friend at the airport. Then we went to  Lock Ann Cafe. Seriously. Am afraid to try meehoon belacan at any eateries. I only eat the one that my auntie's cooked. Meehoon belacan doesn't taste good when you eat at the eateries since people tend to reduce the ingredients or they just don't know how to make a proper one.

But different case with Lock Ann Cafe. I approved their meehoon belacan. It was like sedappppppppppppppppppp!!!!! Oh my gosh. Why do I feel so overwhelmed typing this... I can still taste the taste in my mouth. Definitely the best I could found outside from home. And definitely would come to have this again next time when am craving for it.

Hope they will maintain the taste and everything. I don't mind paying money on good food.

ABC a.k.a Ais Batu Campo
Shave ice with whatever toppings they put in there. They had jellies in it, sweet corn, red beans, milk/coconut milk, gula apong, cendol (the green thing)...
So nice

Meehoon belacan
How to translate into English?
Meehoon with shrimp paste gravy?
The gravy is made from shrimp paste. Here's the trick. If you have good quality of shrimp paste, the gravy will turn out great. If you use whatever shrimp paste without considering the quality, the gravy can smell fishy and the taste would be bitter.
The gravy is made of shrimp paste, grind dried chili, dried shrimp, gula apong. Blend all together.
Then, meehoon (vermicelli), shredded cucumber, chili paste, lime, squid, century egg.

Ok. Done.

Gula apong milkshake

This was my second try of having this milkshake. taste good. They have smoothies too. For this second time, I ended up having the same drink I had on my first time buying from this kiosk.
Located at Food Haven, The Hills, Kuching.
Find the kiosk station named THIRST.

Ordered these cookies for my niece's 11th birthday.
They did so well with the printed cream topping of the cookies.

Keringkam Cafe, Kuching

All I can say, the foods were pretty good especially the satay and also the kuah kacang. Even the lauk-pauk were nice. But I didn't manage to take any photos of the foods.

Dining in Thai style

We went to celebrate birthday last Saturday. This time, we went for Set 7, a little bit different from the last set we had few months ago. And the place still the same, MANGO TREE KUCHING. It's a restaurant serves Thai style cuisines. And this time, the foods tasted even better.

Nothing much to type in. Lazy disease.

Check out the photos below. Sorry if the photos weren't come to your expectation.

Ok. That's all. The pineapple rice we changed it into white rice. But I didn't take photo of it.

Dinner

The youngest one Whatsapp me last Saturday. Lets dinner at seafood. So I said, ok, deal.
So, we went to dinner at seafood near BDC area. Don't know where to go.
Last dinner with the youngest one before he went back to Perak.
Till we meet again for Christmas in December.
Holiday is over for now....

And this nephew is just too cute to handle. Cousin's wife was still on shift during this time. While the other cousin's wife and son, they were still at kampung to celebrate the closing of Gawai

Owh seriously. I totally forgot to take photos of our foods that night. I was too focus on eating. Hahahaha
So no foods photos. Sorry not so sorry.

Birthday season

Happy birthday, dear nephew!! Spiderman got from Taka by your ayah and ibu.
Just a simple celebration since it was a weekday.

Second celebration yesterday. It was for uncle, auntie, brother in law and nephew. 4-in-1.
Happy birthday, everyone!!!

And got the cakes from Secret Recipe and Mita Cake House.

Fresh cream vanilla cake by Mita Cake House. Always loving this bakery.

And White Choc Cheeze from Secret Recipe
We were looking for Choc Cheeze but out of stocked.

Happy birthday, everyone! Have a good good life!

Tea-time with Secret Recipe

This just happened in less than one hour ago.
Sylvia bought a cake from Secret Recipe.
So we had tea time at the office pantry since most of lecturers were free.

Gosh.
It's such a waste if you don't have Secret Recipe at your place.
😃😃😃😃😃😃

One of favorite places to get any kinds of cakes too.
Check out their website at the link below.

Thank you for the cake, Sylvia!

Family bonding

This was what happened in our family Whatsapp group.

When my little brother sent us this photo...
We were like, congratulation!
Finally he's now wearing his Able Rate Maritime (Lance Corporal).
How time passed us by...
He was just a little one before, now has grown up into a fine young man.
God bless you always, little brother...
You are always the youngest one to us.

Last night I went to wet market with my auntie and my cousin. We were there to find vegetables.
I tell you, it's like a paradise for people like us to find fresh vegetables. And then, we went to our favorite bakery.
Yeay, Mita Cake House!!!!
I spotted this Elaborate Baked by Mita.
I've never seen this cake at the other outlets. So, I bought one.
If it's good, I'll come back to this outlet to buy, I told myself.
It turned out awesome! The pandan coconut cake was so so good.
Coincidentally, it was raining last night.
So, I had the cake with a cup of Americano. Totally nice. Seriously.
If you want it to taste extra awesome, just heat for one to two minutes in the microwave.
Then drizzle honey or condensed milk or cream cheese on top.
Aaaaaa, great!

And the most saddest part would be when my cousin sent this photo.
It was my first car. A brand new car. My very first car I bought using my own money.
But of course laaa I paid monthly.
Hahahaha
Damnit.
I miss the car. I really had a hard time when I tried buying it. And at last I got it. Then after two years I lost it during car accident. I was just lucky enough to be alived today. Thank you, God.
This was in 2012.
Now I have a new car. It has been two years since I bought it.
Am not gonna reveal to you the photo.

That's all. 😁😁😁😁😁

Birthday celebration

We celebrated my nieces birthday in March and also my cousin's birthday in April. Don't know what else to type. Am just gonna update on photos of whatever happened since the end of March till this early April.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Happy birthday, Husna & Deeja!!

And then on the April 2nd, 2018, we celebrated my cousin's birthday

Happy birthday, cousin!

And both birthday cakes for nieces and cousin were bought from Mita Cake House. Loving their cakes since many many years ago. Whenever people from other parts of Sarawak or Malaysia come to Kuching, they always "tapau" butter cake from Mita. Seriously, there are all good.

Since 1978
Mita Cake House
See what happened to the cake?
It showed that you have nephews running around in the house
😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

And we went outing on the day before my nieces birthday. Just jalan-jalan jak
Tadaaaaaaa
I was my niece's kangaroo on that night
😆😆😆😆😆😆

Last Sunday

(I was watching 2 Days & 1 Night, and I found out that the plant below wasn't raspberries.
they were mulberries.)

Sweet at the beginning, sour at the end.
Photos taken using my own phone. Huahuahua
