Tuk Tuk Thai Boat Noodle, Plaza Merdeka, Kuching

Last weekend we went to Plaza Merdeka. My cousin called me asking whether I had any plans on the evening. I was watching VIP 2 (VELAIILLA PATTADHARI) when she called. So I told her no, but if you want to go out, maybe around 5.30 pm. I wanted to finish the part 2 since I missed out the part 1 the day before. So later that evening, me, my cousins and my auntie went there.

Went to Borneo Time to fix our wrist watches. Gosh, I had this wrist watch for the past years ( I couldn't remember how many years), only to start wearing the watch since last Saturday (noted that today is Wednesday, October 30th 2019). Oh gosh, I just noticed that the watch is the Men's Edition. Hahahaha. WTH. But then it was a gift. So I just wear it. It looks nice on my wrist tho...

The design doesn't look manly since the color suits the lady more.

Oh back to the makan-makan thing. We were looking for a place to eat and decided to try Tuk Tuk Thai Boat Noodle, since there were not many people there during the hours we were there (it located at an open space, the same level with the food court). Not quite sure what to expect, of course we were like will they taste as good as the one we had at D'Airiz Cafe or even Mango Tree.

These were the food that we ordered.

 Mango Salad

Steamed Fish Lemon Soup and Tomyam Mixed Seafood

Kangkong Thai Style

Thai Chicken Wing

And we had white rice. I ordered iced coffee for myself, my cousins Coca-Cola and orange juice while my auntie ordered iced lemon tea. And the food, boleh tahan. I like the steamed fish lemon soup because the fish didn't have any smells at all and it didn't taste sandy? They used tilapia fish. And you know this fish, if the fish was the one that they breed in the man made fish pool, it would smell and taste sandy. But this one so far, it didn't smell. Just like the eco fish set by Sugar Bun.

The rest of the food, they were ok. Everything tasted sour. Hahahaha. The base of Thai cooking of course you just could not leave out  the lime and lemon. That's the strength of their foods. Lime and lemon give that kind of fragrance in the food. That good and fresh smell.

Oh ya, and also peanuts add on to almost every vegetables. The crunchiness of the peanuts add more action to every bites. Hahahaha. Nice tho.

Done? Done!

Dining in Thai style

We went to celebrate birthday last Saturday. This time, we went for Set 7, a little bit different from the last set we had few months ago. And the place still the same, MANGO TREE KUCHING. It's a restaurant serves Thai style cuisines. And this time, the foods tasted even better.

Nothing much to type in. Lazy disease.

Check out the photos below. Sorry if the photos weren't come to your expectation.

Ok. That's all. The pineapple rice we changed it into white rice. But I didn't take photo of it.

Mango Tree, Kuching

January 13th, 2018
Friday

Went to Mango Tree, Kuching, for lunch today. The restaurant serves mainly on Thai Cuisines and mix local cuisines. It's a Thai restaurant to sum it up. This one is located at Jalan Crookshank. The one opposite Civic Centre. Not to confused with Mango Tree Bistro somewhere in the city centre. Not sure whether the place still exist or not.
Lunch today was sponsored by Cikgu Leha today in conjunction of her birthday.
Happy birthday, Cikgu Leha!

Mango Tree, Kuching

The counter
Love the decoration. The Thai airs is truly liven up here.

So, the restaurant exists since 2004. Its already 13 plus years old??? Thumbs up for still being here. Seriously. It's hard to maintain food businesses here in a small city, some more here in Sarawak. The Borneo island, where I don't think people know our state that much.

Don't ask me why. I have this feeling for table decoration. But what caught my attention the most in this room was those elephants at the back there. Reminded me of Thailand.
Please support the protection of elephants all over the world.

First dish. I didn't even know the name. Basically, we, the local people called it "Kerabu Paku".
But I think this one was done with the touch of a Thai. It has peanuts, chilli, onion, a taste of lime. It smelled good too.
I think this one should be "a must try dish" when you visit this restaurant. Very awesome!

It was good. Seriously. Sorry, I just don't know the name of the dish. It had the taste of minced chicken in it, with prawns. Something like that.

Lets called it mixed seafood in sauce. What kind of sauce, I have no idea. It was tasty too.

Fried rice. This one errmmm, moderate. You can get it anywhere.

Mixed vegetables. I guess they added corn flour to make that thick gravy. Nice one too

Roasted chicken. This one was ok. Just ok. Am not a fan of roasted chicken. So.....

Fish in sauce. Something something sauce. Not a big fan of fish, but I still ate it tho.. It tasted good. Didn't smell fishy at all.

Tomyam seafood. Quite nice

Dessert. Mixed fruits

Kuih Tako

Its topped with coconut cream, layered under with glutinous flour and corn at the very last.
It was superb!

Happy kids with happy tummy!!! Yeayyyy!!
Foods were great!
*Thumbs up to the chef*

*Dap dap*

P/s: Don't take this as a review since we have our own opinion and taste in foods. As for me, I really like the foods. They were all great. If you are here in Kuching, Sarawak, take the chance to visit and have some Thai cuisines here.
