Unwrapping Hyukoh

Yesterday we were chatting on the poster for Hyukoh. Seeing them not releasing any official merchandise whereas they really have great artworks is just hhhmmmm... And then one of the group members pointed out on the poster lyric book that the band put inside the album.

Guess what?

Me being me, I bought both 23 and 24 last year or last two years, I myself also couldn't remember. Just because I don't want to hurt the album (Oh my hearteuuu..😭 😭😭), I didn't open both albums. They were still wrapped and sealed nicely until yesterday. They said the lyric book was actually the poster. They posted it on the group.

And me being me was like, really? I never knew that. After I got home from work, I was still in dilemma whether or not to unwrap the albums. Both were kept nicely in a box. I wrapped it nicely so that nothing could happen to the album.

Gosh, that's so me 👀👀👀

I calmed myself, clear my mind and started to unwrap the box. And held the album in my hand, with the albums were still in sealed.

The box

Then I started to unwrap them.
😲😲😲😲

My heart! Oh my heart! Gosh. I was feeling so torn doing the unwrapping session. These how the albums looked like, the lyric book and also the posters.

Album 23

Album 24

Looking good there, huh.. 😏😏😏😏
They are all horizontal which is quite amused for me. Never came across such poster in such position. The artworks looking great too. Abstract. And the lyric. The fonts.. 👍👍👍

So this is how they looked like after unwrapped. Congratulation to myself for making such a brave move... Just to see the poster.

The artiste who designed the cover album, I mean the artworks of both albums, you may follow the account on Twitter. Am not quite sure if am allowed to do this.

This is the account: nemonan / @nemonannemo

Not sure whether the person is a he or she. But he/she posted such a nice artwork there.

RM Mono: Playlist *update*

I just finished listen to his latest playlist. I wouldn't want to called it mixtape since he crossed the word and replaced it with playlist. So.... I need time to listen to it before I can say something. For now, please listen and enjoy. Will come back soon. See ya!

Reminder: This is not a review and am not an ARMY. Just that I've been following their music for quite some time. And mixtape is something that you should not missed out when it comes to music. And I just noticed I never write anything on JHope's Hope World. I just randomly posted a bit on his mixtape on Twitter more than here. Will take time to do one too.

*I'm back*

I posted this in 2018, October and only came back here today. How many months?... Gosh. Seriously. I ditched this blog for few months because I lost my interest in writing. Talking about Mono playlist, am glad this one station radio plays tokyo on their station. *clap clap*

It's my favorite on Mono. As for Hope World, am constantly listening to it.
When I feel something deeper, I listen to Agust D. When I feel light and need something to cheer me up, I listen to Hope world. And when I need to calm myself, I listen to Mono. They are all doing well.

And with just 5 days left before BTS comeback, aigooo... I watched Persona trailer. I guess because I grew up in the 90's, hip hop is just something that always drawn me. Feel so close to it. Hopefully, the album #MAP_OF_THE_SOUL-PERSONA get a hit just like the Love Yourself series. Or maybe even better than before. It is something that all people around the globe is looking forward to.

BOY IN LUV for JUST ONE DAY

Errmmm. Yup. Hi. Again.

It's the last week of lecture weeks before exam starts this Saturday. Work? So far so good. Still have works to complete, but naaahhhh. I'm taking my time to spend here. Again. For the past few days, I was thinking of deleting this blog. But then, rasa sayang pulak.....

I just found out the two songs I kept on humming and sang for over the past years. I immediately added them into my playlist before I forget about it. And only today I realized the songs were by BTS. Gosh. Talking of not being an ARMY. I only know those songs and whenever I heard the songs before this, I just kept on singing and humming to them. And I would be like, whose songs are these... And never found the answer till two weeks ago. And only today I found out the title.

Boy in Luv and Just One Day. I only remember the song keep on saying say what you want say what you want and the other one, the music, the rhythm is just stucked in my brain for the past years. So whenever the song popped out, I humming to it smoothly. 😆😆😆😆😆

I went to this particular shop about two weeks ago, before Raya I think, they played both songs. So while I was looking for things to buy, I just kept on humming and singing along to the songs. And I was like whose songs are these.

And yesterday I watched this YouTube on BTS history, these two songs popped out, and I was like, owh, those songs! After all these years... After many many years humming to the songs...
Only yesterday I found out about it. 😌😌😌😌😌 When I first listened to Fire and Blood Sweat Tears, felt like I've heard these guys before. It was so good how music can bring you back to past memories... No wonder they sound familiar.

You know it's good if you know the songs but you never know the singer. Why I said this? Because you will keep on coming back to listen to the songs. And without watching the mv, you can actually enjoy more on the songs. Seriously. That's how I remember those two songs. Never watch the mv, never care who sing the songs. So whenever I heard the songs been played, automatically I humming and sing along to it. Same goes to whatever songs that I keep on repeat and listen to. I just prefer to listen without watching the mv.

OMG. Wats this? Talking on BTS. Hahahaha. Is this post dedicated to them? Nahhhhh. Just something I want to type on. If there should be any ARMYs come across this page, you guys stan the best group. Appreciate the group and keep on supporting them. And I really love how they use their fame and influence for doing project with UNICEF. It's totally a great move that every influential people should follow.

So these two will be on repeat. Hahahaha

Reserved Seat

Since I don't read Hangul nor fully understand Korean, I think 24: How to find true love and happiness is the best among all Hyukoh albums. But still I have my own favorites. 😊😊😊😊😊
From 23, I love all the songs. But the most love one, all time favorite would be Reserved Seat. I don't know why but somehow I can just relate to the feel. It feels darker and heavy. It feels sad. Dunno how to describe. We have different ears, different tastes in music. This is just me.

I got my album 24 last week or last two weeks. This time the vibe is slightly different than the previous one. I watched they performed Love Ya! live on YouTube. Good to see how the vocalist looking straight at the audience while performing the song. Before this, he just looked down a lot while singing. It's a positive progress for him. To convey the message behind the song, it just perfectly fit the title Love Ya! to look at the audience while singing the song.

Aaaaa. Reserved Seat. You have to blast the song with earphones or headphones. And listen till the end. It just so so good. You'll know what I mean. Tell me how does that make you feel.
When you love music, language is not a barrier at all. The sense, the feel, the rhythm can just pull you into the song. If you know what I mean....

Agust D since 2016

Been listening to these and never get tired.
I guess because of how he expressed his emotion in the songs.
I have all songs in my phone.
His mixtape.
Loving Interlude; Dream, Reality very very much.
I wonder if he ever has the thought to come out with a full song and lyric for that....

Pomade - Drug Restaurant

I ordered the album on the 26th February.
I tracked the delivery. It was delivered.
OMG. Will update this again once I get the package.

Just Whatsapp my auntie. She confirmed the package is already at home, signed by my uncle.
OMG. I really wanted to have it, and now I really have one.

Oh gosh. Am nervous. I can't wait to unwrap the package.

It's here. Finally. This is totally a self-reward thing for me. Huhuhuhu

Drug Restaurant

Sitting on the bed while browsing some stuffs online. Feel tired but couldn't sleep.

Listening to Drug Restaurant mini online album. Before that I was listening to their latest album POMADE. Am not sure how many times did I brag about this band on my blog.... Loving their songs especially the English album, POMADE. You guys should give it a try.

Because of that I keep on telling myself that I need and I should go to at least one of their concerts. Attending one of their Europe concert tour would be great. That kind of vibe. Their music is just great to be played somewhere in Europe, not in Korea.

BTS Fever

It's a fever.
Still can't moving forward. Watched their performance on American Music Awards 2017. They were awesome. Very good! Except that the production muted the fan chants/ screamed or whatever they called it. But overall, it felt overwhelming.

Looking forward on Mic Drop on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Loving their fancam on Jimmy Kimmel.

#BTS "Go Go"

Hukh hukh hukh. Ehhemmmm
Sorry.
I was accidentally watch the video on Go Go last week.
See, I love watching people doing public dance cover. And I found BTS "Go Go".
And seriously, it captured my heart. The dance routine they did. Only after that I searched for the mv by the original group. BTS. Call it whatever you want. Before this, I already know the name, I remembered them by the name Bangtan Boys (they have quite a number of names) but never really listen to their songs. I know Fire, but never watch the mv. (Only recently I started to dig into YouTube and watch their mvs)

Then last week, I discovered "Go Go". The public dance cover done by Yours Truly. And I was like, auuwwww. The music immediately hooked into my mind. Few days after the discovery, then I watched the mv. It was awesome. Seriously. Not long after that, the name BTS went crazy. I was like, am I that lucky to discover them just before the name goes wild? Hahahaha

Now, am looking forward to watch them appear on famous live shows in the US especially MTV AMA 2017. Everybody loves MTV. I mean, who doesn't?

And I watch them like a proud sister on YouTube. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

ARMYS? Aaaaaa. Nope, am not (Well, am trying to make my friend into one. Hahahaha). Am not at that level yet (since I have eclectic taste in music), not qualified to be called as one. Anyway, wishing BTS all the best and hopefully this will be a good start for them to be recognized as one of the best band ever in the world. Globally. And to all ARMYS worldwide, you are the best! BTS can go really far as they have a strong fan base.

Drug Restaurant: Pomade

Finally, I've been waiting for this. Didn't see this coming tho...
They were known as JJY Band before changing their name to Drug Restaurant.
Accidentally found them on YouTube and I just fell in love with their music. Am sorry not so sorry, but they remind of Arctic Monkeys. And also one of the Indie bands here in Malaysia. Can't remember the name, I'll update once I found them.

Now, let's talk on POMADE. I listened to all their songs already. This album has its own style. Suprisingly, all English songs this time. Which is such a bonus for people like me who don't understand their language but loving their music. Heh. Nice try for those who come from countries which English is not their medium of instruction. I know, the band were criticized on their grammar and vocabs and everything. As for me, music has no boundaries. Forget about the grammar, forget about the vocabs. It's worth for a try than they keep their talents to themselves.

The song Catwoman is good. Sorry to say, it reminds me of Redline '95 by Shizuka where they added Meow Meow. Chicky. Hahahaha. Drug Restaurant's Catwoman sounds sexy. At least that's what my ear told me.

Ain't I Good To You gives this melancholy feeling. I could feel the sadness. I guess the lyricist is being honest about his feeling.

The song Starved got me rebel. Hahaha. It brings with the rebellious thought. You know, you act naturally, with your pure attitude, but then people keep on misunderstanding you because it is just the real you? Did you get it?
This part caught my attention.

"I am brutal like the BIG SHOW
But I'm not like the Texas killer
Who's gonna think
That I have an amazing heart"

Does he refering to The Big Show? I mean, The Big Show from World Wrestling Federation? That amazed me. The whole song sounded like it was referring to the lead vocalist, Jung Joon-Young. Sorry, I haven't check out who's writing whose on every song.

Overall, thumbs up for trying to come out with an English album. It must have been hard for them to get place in their country but for loyal fans, I guess this is a bonus. Hopefully next time, they will improve more (if language is really matter to some of the fans).

Heard that they will go on tour starting this September. I checked Jung Joon-Young's twitter. Not sure if that's his real one since I don't use instagram.

The cover album looks like this. Should be.

The tour schedule. For updates, I think better to check on his instagram or Facebook page. The information should be there.

Damnit seriously. How I wish I can attend any of their events. Looks promising.

Leaving you here with their mv for the song Drink O2 in The Water

Wishing Drug Restaurant all the best in whatever they do. Hopefully can hear more from them soon.

*Update: The Indie band from Malaysia that I mentioned above is Bittersweet. I still remember their song called Capital E. You guys should listen to it. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Bittersweet music style and Drug Restaurant is almost similar. Not the same but they do gives the same vibes.
p/s: Really miss the Indie scenes in Malaysia.

Jesus lived in a motel room by band Hyukoh

 HYUKOH
 Photo from HIGHGRND instagram

I know rightttttt
The song title is very catchy. I've been listening to it repeatedly since the album 23 is out. I guess this time, this English song by the band is heavily influenced by British band styles. At least, it sounded that way to my ear.

Wait till you listen to the song and read the lyric. Am not sure whether the lyric is written by Oh Hyuk or someone else. Normally, their songs are written by Oh Hyuk, especially their English songs.

The moment I read the lyric, it was like,
"Owh, it must be written by Oh Hyuk since the word Oye is included there and Oye is Oh Hyuk's dog."

Click on this link to see Oye's photos.

You may check out the lyric for this song on this link

The last part where he sang "Then Oye yells Uuk uuk uuk uukkk". OMG. It sounds so 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I can't give you the link to the song. I listen to the album on Spotify. All songs are recommendable. They are getting better. Seriously.

It's very hard to buy the album here. They had their showcase last night in Kuala Lumpur. See, am in Malaysia, but at the other side of Malaysia since Kuching is in Sarawak and Sarawak is across the South China Sea. It's ok.
It's not time to catch them in action yet. From their posts, I guess they received positive feedbacks from the fans here. Hope they enjoyed their stays there.

P/s: Am not sure whether it's good or not to include those links up there in here. Since this is not a promotional page (more to personal page)....
Anyway, keep on supporting this band. Good musics will never do you wrong.

Molly Town by Joss Stone

Currently listening to this. Repeatedly. It makes me puzzle why this song didn't go all out on the charts? It's an old song by Joss Stone. Not that old since its released in 2015. The album went No.1 Year-End Reggae Album of 2015 (this one is from Wikipedia). She's the best among the best. Yet she doesn't get the fame she deserves. But she's still a living proof as one of the best soul R&B singer and songwriter.

Hyukoh 23

I was waiting for two things this month. First was Hyukoh 23 album. Second it was K.A.R.D third project. I mean, their single before they debut.

I already watch Rumor yesterday. It was awesome. Super awesome? Yeahhh. Loving this group since their music style is so much different than the other existing groups. Don't Recall hidden version was totally superb too.

Talking on Band Hyukoh, I accidentally discovered them on Mudo. Because of the special episode on music festival. I know, I just couldn't kept my ears away from the word music. When I read the program was doing the music festival episode thing, straight away I watched them. It's good that I look at music style rather than focusing on good-looking people who sings. Muahahaha (But honestly, you cannot resist those members in the band, they have their own charms and styles. With strong personalities, of course).

Seriously, they are making their own way with their music style. It's just like you are listening to those British band mixing with Japanese rock band style with this Chinese influences, which really made them to stand out among the rest. Which is splendid. And now they are out with their new album, 23. I listened to it last night. The songs were awesome, the music got strong.
(Did I use too much awesome-ness here? Please bear with it.)

The question now is how am I going to get the album? I mean the real album, not the digital one. I need to figure this out.

P/s: 1. Now I realized that Tablo is such a genius. He has clean English when he speaks and his writing, totally in a very high-standard, which is rare among any other artists. I wonder his Blo notes, you know, the book written by him. Do they publish English version for it?

2. I hope Band Hyukoh will produce more English songs in the future.
